What was the goal?

I was brought in initially to perform an SEO site audit. The aim was to identify any efficiency gains to be made to either reduce or better reallocate resources.

Actions:

  1. I found that there was a lot of exits on different category and content pages. I cleared this up and implemented a site structure that kept users on site.
  2. There were many pages that were converting well but not generating a lot of traffic, therefore I helped identify ways to generate more search volume towards these pages.
  3. There was a lack of on-page optimisation on some top-performing pages so with some slight adjustments we could make their already top traffic pages grow even faster.

Results:

Each of these actions produced outsized performance compared to period prior to the amends, they were all maintained as ongoing edits and built upon.

  1. Less pages and therefore an overall higher time on site and engagements.
  2. An overall increase in conversions as more users landed on the top converting pages.
  3. Already highly ranked pages began to increase more rankings terms and therefore driving more total visits.
As the audit was so helpful the client asked me to stay on to implement and manage the recommendations

Summary

This was a highly enjoyable engagement working alongside a business with already significant monthly traffic. I was able to identify some 'quick-fixes' and help them setup and track the changes. We were able to see a clear improvement in the metrics that matter.
